At its irregular meeting convened on January 4, the Cabinet made a decision not to celebrate the Tsagaan Sar – Mongolian Lunar New Year in conjunction with the pandemic situation.
Today, December 4, 23 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ulaanbaatar city, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country at 1286. As holiday celebrations create public gatherings and increase the risk of infection spread, the Cabinet deemed it proper not to celebrate the Tsagaan Sar extensively.
This year, Mongolian Lunar New Year will fall on February 12-14.
