The Vice Mayor is Concerned about the Condition of Women in the era of the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic and the self-isolation regime have entailed many negative consequences. Unfortunately, women and children are at increased risk of violence and abuse.

Vice-Mayor for Social Policy Aizhan Chynybaeva met with representatives of social movements to protect women’s rights from violence.

We discussed the issue of creating a program to provide comprehensive support to our mothers, sisters, daughters, and all those who were most affected by the pandemic.

The Vice Mayor proposed, together with the capital’s human rights defenders, to create a single database of women and children who need psychological, juridical and material support for the subsequent formation of an algorithm of actions.

We also considered the creation of a single hotline for victims of domestic violence.

Dear citizens! It should be reminded that a round-the-clock helpline «111» is working to report facts about the danger to the life and health of minors.
