BMA Handed Out DIY Kits for Growing Vegetable at Home

On 24 April 2020, Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, as the Director of the BMA’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, presided over the meeting No. 31/2020.

The meeting reported current situation of the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 24 April 2020. In Bangkok, 3 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed with the total confirmed cases of 1,457, while 11 patients were recovered with the total recovered cases of 1,309 and 166 were undergoing treatment in hospitals. There were no deaths and the total deaths were 22.

The meeting had reiterated all district offices to properly organize and deal with the donation procedures of consumer goods and daily necessary items in their responsible area. Moreover, the district office will work in collaboration with Metropolitan Police Stations located in the area in order to keep order and follow the measures for controlling the spread of COVID-19. Some donation spots might be rearranged to suit the situation properly.

The BMA distributed homegrown vegetable sprouts for people who affected by the lockdown, the unemployed and the low-income earners during the spread of COVID-19, in order to ease their financial burden. All 20,000 distributed vegetables, are fast growing type and require minimal space. Moreover, 2,500 DIY kits for growing vegetable at home are prepared for distributing as well.
