On 24th April 2020, Mr. Sakoltee Phattiyakul, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, inspected physical-distancing measures in public commuter boats for prevention of COVID-19 at Klong San Saep pier, Pathum Wan district and Ratchathewi district.
Traffic and Transportation Department, Pathum Wan and Ratchathewi district offices in collaboration with Marine Department implemented the measures by keeping the number of passengers per boat, at 40 to 50. The excessive passengers will have to wait for another boat in order to keep physical distancing in the boat. Moreover, the number of boats will be increased to reduce waiting times for their passengers.
