BMA’S RELIEF SUPPLY KITS RECEIVED BY 24,000 BANGKOK HOUSEHOLDS

On 11th May 2020, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, visited and distributed relief supply kits to people suffered from the spread of COVID-19 in Southern Bangkok area zone consisting of Suan Luang District covering 3 communities, Phra Khanong District covering 7 communities, and Bang Na District covering 2 communities, the total distribution of relief supply kits in 3 districts is 1,370. Most of the communities do not registered with their district offices and some of the registered communities have never received any assistance.

In each distribution, the BMA has implemented protective measures against COVID-19 to strictly ensure safety of every receiver and officer such as keeping physical distancing between receivers, providing body temperature scanning and alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and all receivers and officers who deliver the kits always wear face masks.

The BMA has continued to have on-site distribution to people in need starting from 22nd April 2020. Relief supply kits were distributed to more than 24,000 households with the aim to relieve financial burdens of people who have lost their income from the impact of the spread of COVID-19.  These items were donated by kind and helpful people and by more than 100 organizations from various sectors without using the BMA’s budget.
